Besides regular life drawing, Caeria's works on paper enabled her to fit her work around child care and smallholding work and provided her the freedom to explore ideas it seems she was not ready to apply to a full painting. Her sketch books remain as a record of the life she and Henry lived at Newhall and Tintagel, together with their four children.
